Viettel Money denies information about working with exchanges or wallets to buy cryptocurrencies, including Metamask

[ad_1]

Recently, Metamask wallet users were very surprised that among the electronic money payment methods, in addition to Apple Pay, Debit or Credit, there was also the Viettel-Pay payment method with the Viettel Money logo. When a user purchases cryptocurrency, this payment method appears on both the wallet and the website.

Viettel-Pay payment method on Metamask wallet

When users choose the Viettel-Pay payment method to purchase cryptocurrencies, the transaction amount will be limited to VND 500,000. When you click to buy, the Metamask wallet will direct you to another payment platform called Onramp.money and proceed with the transaction.

A representative from Viettel Digital Services Corporation stated that Viettel Money does not work with any other exchanges or partners to purchase cryptocurrencies. Metamask is also not a partner of Viettel Money. They use transfers between individuals for online shopping, and sellers leave their account numbers for buyers to transfer money directly.

When a user clicks to buy cryptocurrency on this Metamask wallet, although the Viettel-Pay logo is displayed, the next steps will result in a transfer from the Onramp.money platform to a banking partner in Vietnam. Viettel Money confirmed that Onramp.money is not a partner of the company and that wallets containing this e-money direct users to pay through other platforms even if they choose to pay via Viettel-Pay.
